Testimony from First Baptist Church, Rolling Hills (Received 6/2015):

Dear Tulsa Metro Baptist Network,

In February of this year, with the help of TMBN, we launched a weekly karate ministry at FBC, Rolling Hills. The goal of the ministry is to use the uniqueness of karate as an opportunity to share the gospel.

We currently have about 50+ students between our two classes, allowing us to minister to both existing church families and about fifteen new families that we were not otherwise reaching. Praise God that several new students are now going with us to camp this year.

This ministry has been an answer to prayer for us, and the start-up funds from TMBN helped us secure much needed equipment for this launch. The ministry is now self-sustaining, and just this week we were able to send money to help two karate related mission projects. Please pray for our chief instructors: Scott Murry, Jason Murry, and Lance Pinkston.

Testimony from Parkview Baptist Church (Received 12/2014):

Testimony from Pastor Steve Lewis at Parkview Baptist Church, Tulsa:

Thanks to the Impacting Lostness Team and the BGCO partnership with us, we were able to rent out a booth at the Tulsa State Fair. The premise was to have fair goers stop and guess the number of crosses in a big container with the one coming closest to the actual number winning a big screen TV. Those who stopped were then asked if they would have time to listen to a brief story of how the cross changed someone's life.
Here's what happened:

*75 Parkview members received training on how to share their testimony.

*60 shared their testimony for the first time.

*3,224 people stopped at our booth and had a conversation and received the gospel.

*230 people listened to a testimony about the cross.

*409 asked for more info about our church.

*3 people have since joined Parkview.

*1 person trusted Christ at the booth!

We learned a lot and hope to do a similar outreach again next year! Thanks to TMBN and the BGCO for partnering with us!

Blessings and Happy New Year!
Steve Lewis

Testimony from Foundation Church (Received 12/2014):

I wanted to pass along all the great things God did this past weekend at our Share Christmas event that TMBN and BGCO helped to fund.

Share Christmas is our opportunity as a church to reach our communities for Christ.  This year, we partnered with four different people groups/communities: DHS Foster Families in Creek County, Shannon Valley Mobile Home Community, Valley Brook Mobile Home Community and Friends/Families/Co-Workers of Foundation Church Members.

Friday Night: MY1 Night

On Friday night, we hosted a MY1 Night.  Our MY1 night was directed at our church members to encourage them to invite a friend, family member or co-worker who is unchurched, de-churched or lost for a dinner theater.  For the adults and students, we had a great roast dinner with all of the fixings.  They were served at tables by volunteers at our church.  Throughout the evening, they were treated to live Christmas music and door prizes.  After the dinner, they were treated to a Christmas drama/sketch performed by our Creative Arts Team.

For the kids in the preschool and children areas, they were treated to inflatable games, minute-2-win-it games, crafts, pizza and our evangelistic drama, The Toy Box. (http://www.thetoyboxdrama.com/)

After the drama/sketch, Pastor Scott Hamilton gave an invitation inviting people to do one of at least one of three things:

1.  Step In

a.  Step into a relationship with Christ

b.  Step in through believers baptism

c.  Step in by attending Foundation Church if they do not have a church home.

2.  Step Out

Step out of a bad habit/hangup or relationship that is keeping you from moving forward in your life and in your relationship with Christ.  (We encouraged people to get plugged into our CR ministry).

3.  Step Up

Step up in your marriage and family.  We encouraged people to connect with our Re-Engage marriage ministry that meets on Wednesday nights to help improve marriages and families.

We had a good response from our people inviting their friends/co-workers/families.  This evening was a good bridge builder and allowed our church members to invite those that may not necessarily come to a Sunday morning Church Service.

Saturday Night

On Saturday night, we hosted Shannon Valley, Valley Brook and Foster Families from DHS.

Throughout the month of November, we set up an angel tree with names of children who needed gifts from these communities.  Our church members picked the names off of the tree and got gifts for each of the kids.

The evening included family pictures, a great roast dinner with all of the fixings.  They were served at tables by volunteers at our church.  After the dinner, they were treated to a Christmas drama/sketch performed by our Creative Arts Team. Throughout the evening, they were treated to live Christmas music and door prizes. After the drama/sketch, Pastor Scott Hamilton gave an invitation encouraging them to Step In, Step Out, and Step Up.

For the kids in the preschool and children areas, they were treated to inflatable games, minute-2-win-it games, a Christian Illusionist: Brandon Rainbolt, crafts, pizza and our evangelistic drama, The Toy Box. (http://www.thetoyboxdrama.com/)

It was an exciting weekend where we saw our church come together to serve and we had an awesome response to the Gospel:

We are now following up with each person who made a decision and are looking forward to getting them baptized and connected.  Pray for us in this effort!

Thank you so much for your support in helping us with Share Christmas!  Below is the link to see a video of our church being the church at Share Christmas and some of the highlights from a great weekend!

Rusty GunnDear Impact Lostness Team,

Thank you so much for granting our request for funding to attend that Real Life conference called Disciple Shift in July. The wisdom and training gained during the conference has already proven to be extremely practical and valuable. The time I was able to spend with our new House Church director planning and praying was also very helpful.

As a result of the conference and training, we have already seen our House Churches grow and be strengthened. We have seen people come to Christ and be baptized. We have also started one new House Church and will be starting several more later this fall. We are training new leaders and seeing great spiritual growth taking place.

Thank you for your help as partners for the gospel as we work to see a city transformed for the glory of God.

Today Matters, so Matter Today!
